Balvenie

I decided to write about one of the smoothest single malt
scotches I have ever had the pleasure to taste. I picked up a
bottle of Balvenie Single Barrel 15 year old. It is smooth with
a light fragrance. Smooth and silky with a honey flavor. And
a long after taste which is deep and well rounded. A very
pleasant scotch indeed.

I also though it was interesting that Balvenie has been
produced since 1893 and still grows its own barley. They
even malt the barley on site. Both of these facts are
extremely unusual today.

  • I couldnt agree more. I actually had my first taste of Balvenie 15 this past weekend at a bar in NYC (If they had any of the first 3 whiskies I ordered from their menu, I'd name the bar) and it was absolutely delicious. Sweet...smooth, but not too light. I thoroghly enjoyed it, and bought a bottle first thing Monday.
